Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Rose (ranked 1775 p4p, 3460 weight class) and Jay Steve (ranked 242 p4p, 436 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Adrian Rose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 34 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Steve!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Steve. Rose does a little dance to reset his feet.

Steve throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rose swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Steve fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rose manages to avoid it.
Rose uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Steve.

Steve throws a low kick, looking for Rose's leg but Rose calmly moves out of range.

and Rose counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Rose ducks under a wild hook from Steve.
It looked like Rose wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Rose lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Steve throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rose turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

We've been informed that Steve has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Steve will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Steve throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rose stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Jay Steve seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rose stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Steve swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rose.

Steve takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Steve takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Steve fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rose was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Steve tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rose was well out of range. Poor timing from Steve.
Rose tests Steve's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Steve is rocked!
Rose clobbers Steve with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Steve is still on wobbly legs! Can Rose finish him?
Rose drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Steve right on the button. Steve goes down! Rose follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Rose gets the win via TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adrian Rose!
