Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Twea King (ranked 2488 p4p, 2405 weight class) and Jack McScramble (ranked 208 p4p, 201 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Twea King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack McScramble!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McScramble lands a nice hook to King's body. King takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
King tries to clinch but McScramble moves away

and McScramble counters with a shoot takedown. King fights it but they end up in guard.
King being controlled here, momentarily.
McScramble trying to control but King is working from the bottom.
McScramble is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
McScramble passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King is looking to control McScramble's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can King avoid being mounted?
McScramble is looking to take a break and control but King is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McScramble is pressing down on King's thigh, looking to free his foot. King is holding on for now.

McScramble is working for a kimura but King is defending it quite comfortably.
McScramble is trying to control the action in half guard but King is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McScramble is looking to advance position but King won't allow it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McScramble in particular looking to stall.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
King wants to control but McScramble is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McScramble circles away from the clinch attempt

and McScramble counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
King trying to keep a closed guard but McScramble is proving a slippery customer.

McScramble stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.

King is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
King not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
King pulls McScramble in close to prevent any damage.

King looking for a guillotine here but McScramble defends easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McScramble is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
McScramble stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McScramble trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McScramble shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

King gets a takedown into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McScramble trying to control from the bottom.

King darts in and clinches McScramble up against the cage.
McScramble is pushing King up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
McScramble lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
King is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables McScramble to keep the fight standing.
King misses with some punches.
King fails to pull guard.
A short right hand to the side of the head by McScramble.
A body shot lands from McScramble.
King doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
McScramble is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Come on McScramble - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
McScramble continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
McScramble wants to stall.
King scores with a shot to the side of McScramble's head.

King gets underhooks to prevent McScramble's takedown attempt.
McScramble tried to land a shot to the body but connects with King's elbow.
King lands an uppercut.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for McScramble.
King swings wildly with an uppercut but McScramble uses good head movement to avoid it.

King is fighting off a takedown attempt but McScramble is just too persistent for him and manages to trip King to the mat. King regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
McScramble works over King with some ground and pound from guard.
King is trying to keep McScramble in close.

King is looking for a triangle but McScramble pushes his legs off easily.

McScramble postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

McScramble postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! King is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McScramble, into his guard.


McScramble is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

King got a little sloppy there for a moment and McScramble has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, King has managed to get both his arms back between McScramble's legs - danger averted.

King wants to control from the top but McScramble keeps moving.
King will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
McScramble wants to sweep but no luck.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McScramble lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

King swings away with an uppercut that misses.
King jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McScramble walks away with a smile on his face. King gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

King moves into range and clinches up with McScramble.
McScramble has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
King tries to work over McScramble's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McScramble stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
McScramble trying to control the position but instead, King has worked for underhooks and has pushed McScramble into the cage.
McScramble blocks a punch to the side of the head.
King lands a hook that snaps the head of McScramble backwards.

King misses with a short punch on the inside.

and McScramble counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

King cracks McScramble with a nice body shot.
King tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

King pulls guard successfully.
McScramble wants to pass the guard but King is keeping the position.

King escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McScramble gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McScramble not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

King looking for a guillotine here but McScramble defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

King is looking for a triangle but McScramble pushes his legs off easily.
Jack McScramble is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
McScramble landing some decent shots from guard.
McScramble trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McScramble slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

King isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. McScramble stacks King on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by McScramble!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Twea King.
I think McScramble has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
