PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Ubereem (ranked 419 p4p, 405 weight class) and Make Makkonen (ranked 23 p4p, 22 weight class). Makkonen has chosen Epic Sax Guy - time to SMESH! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makkonen shoots in for a takedown but Ubereem shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Makkonen looks for a takedown but Ubereem sprawls well.
It looked like Ubereem was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Makkonen.

Makkonen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ubereem was covering up waiting for the punch and Makkonen finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Makkonen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ubereem is just riding it out for now. Makkonen eventually gives up the hold.

Ubereem is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
