The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mi misses with a double jab

and Cubbedge counters by moving into the clinch.
Mi throws a head punch that misses.
Mi is looking to take this one to the mat.
Mi swings wildly with an uppercut but Cubbedge uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mi is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cubbedge is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mi to the mat. Mi regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Cubbedge is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mi throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cubbedge forces his way into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mi flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Cubbedge not doing much here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cubbedge moves nicely into side control.
Mi wants to control but Cubbedge postures up.
Cubbedge has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Mi is letting Cubbedge control him for a moment.
