Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Riku Momomoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bob Smith!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Momomoto makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Smith tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling Momomoto to counter with a crisp jab.
Smith throws a leg kick that misses.
A quick step to the side and Momomoto tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith moves to clinch but Momomoto breaks away
and Momomoto counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.
Smith swings and misses with a shot to the body
letting Momomoto counter with a right hand.
A decent looking cross lands there for Momomoto.
Momomoto lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Smith thows a leg kick but Momomoto checks it
and Momomoto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith takes one to the chin there.
Smith is rocked!
Smith tries to get into range but Momomoto steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Smith! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Momomoto scores the big KO victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Riku Momomoto!
After winning the bout, Riku Momomoto thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
