Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves takes a shot right to the bread basket.
No luck for Severo with that takedown attempt.
Alves keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Severo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Alves. That did some damage!
Severo leaves Alves with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Severo tries a head kick but it misses.

and Alves counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Severo's guard now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Severo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alves regains half guard.
Severo is thwarting Alves's attempts to control the position.
Alves lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Severo wants to take a breather but Alves is having none of it.
Alves trying to control but Severo postures up.

Severo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Alves is looking to improve his position but Severo isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Severo wants to finish this one by submission but Alves is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Severo.
