Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Ryder (ranked 3422 p4p, 3967 weight class) and Mateo Embry (ranked 276 p4p, 308 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mateo Embry!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryder shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Embry defends it nicely.
Ryder changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Embry tries to avoid it but Ryder manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Embry to the ground. Embry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ryder shoots in and gets a takedown into Embry's guard.
Ryder slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ryder's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryder trying to control the position from guard on top but Embry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Embry looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Ryder wants to work for an arm triangle but Embry is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ryder thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ryder is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Ryder is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ryder drops an elbow to the side of Embry's head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ryder connects with a nice short shot to Embry's temple.

Ryder takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Embry has hold of Ryder's hands but Ryder slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Ryder is taking a breather. Embry says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Ryder is nestled in close to Embry, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Embry is still in real trouble! Can Ryder finish him?

A big strike lands for Ryder! That's really hurt Embry and he's turned his back - Ryder keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Ryder jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
