Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tanjiro San (ranked 4337 p4p, 5308 weight class) and Shai Halud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tanjiro San could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shai Halud's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tanjiro San!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shai Halud!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halud blocks the body kick.
Halud is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Halud lands a really nice looking cross but San seems unphased.
San walks into a stiff left hand from Halud.
Halud lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
San moves out of range as Halud throws a body kick.

San clinches.

San pulls guard effortlessly.

San is looking for a triangle but Halud pushes his legs off easily.
Halud controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now San is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Halud working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from San.
San with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
San is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Halud really doesn't want to stay on the ground with San. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

San stands and steps away. Halud gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Halud gets caught flat footed, as San shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Halud wants to stand up but San is controlling him.

San gets to his feet - Halud follows without any prompting.
Tanjiro San seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

San closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Halud quickly recovers to half guard.
San throwing shots but Halud is blocking nicely.
Still in half guard, San seems content to control.
San not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
San not doing much here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

San is trying to control the action in half guard but Halud is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Halud's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Halud's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Halud connects with a good right hand that stumbles San. San circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A jab from San misses.
Halud throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent San stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
San shoots in for a takedown but Halud shows good takedown defense.

San walks into a jab.
San tries for a takedown but Halud sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tanjiro San. That's going to take a lot out of him.
San is breathing heavily.
Halud lands with a straight right. San didn't see that one coming.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
San takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

San rushes Halud and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Halud tries to break the clinch but San is controlling the position.
Halud has had enough of the clinch but San keeps him there for the moment.
Halud tries to circle away but San has him pinned against the cage.
Halud has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
San keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Halud's efforts to push away.
San has Halud pressed against the cage, preventing Halud from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
San prevents Halud from breaking the clinch.

Halud's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
San takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
San fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Shai Halud will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Halud stuffs the takedown.
San shoots in looking for a takedown. Halud tries to sprawl out of it but San keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Halud manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Halud throws a series of punches but San avoids them all with ease.
San throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
The fight stays on the outside here - San looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Halud lands a nice looking body shot.

Halud lands a big head kick that sends San tumbling to the mat! Halud takes a step backwards and waves San back to his feet - he wants the finish!

San is rocked!

It looks like Tanjiro San has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
San is looking to clinch but Halud is avoiding it.
Oh San is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Halud counters with a crisp right that sends San to the canvas! Halud follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
