This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 91 wins and 45 losses; Matvey Pavlov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 41 wins and 23 losses; Koryu Miyagi!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Miyagi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pavlov defends well and Miyagi ends up having to push Pavlov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Pavlov feinted with a counter takedown.

Miyagi has managed to clinch.

Miyagi wants the takedown. Pavlov is fighting it off but Miyagi persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Pavlov's guard against the cage.

Miyagi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We've been hearing good reports from Pavlov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Pavlov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A relieved looking Matvey Pavlov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Koryu Miyagi had this to say: 'Ill train smarter and harder next time, so i come back stronger than ever!'.
