Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canarinho shoots in looking for a takedown. Cheng tries to sprawl out of it but Canarinho keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cheng manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cheng looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Canarinho!

Cheng working for a submission but Canarinho is keeping him at bay.
Cheng lands a big shot there that rocks Canarinho but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cheng cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Cheng postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Canarinho looks a forlorn figure.

Canarinho sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Cheng looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Cheng is looking for a kimura here.
Canarinho works his way to full guard. Good work.

Canarinho escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cheng gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Canarinho is breathing heavily.
Cheng trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cheng advances to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cheng connects with a nice short shot to Canarinho's temple.
Cheng is nestled in close to Canarinho, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Cheng is trying to work for a kimura but Canarinho is defending well.

Canarinho wants to get back to full guard.

Canarinho on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cheng lands a nice short elbow.

Cheng is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Cheng wants to lay and pray for a moment but Canarinho keeps working.
Cheng tries to pass the half guard into mount. Canarinho knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Canarinho wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cheng.

Cheng stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Canarinho swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cheng is keen to just control but Canarinho is a slippery customer.
Cheng takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Cheng looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Cheng changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Canarinho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Cheng wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Canarinho, who protects the arm well.

Cheng wants to control from the top but Canarinho keeps moving.

Canarinho escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cheng gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cheng is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Canarinho is surviving well by controlling Cheng's body position as best he can.
Canarinho is desperately trying to improve his position but Cheng has a good base and remains in mount.
Cheng can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Canarinho is looking to escape.

Cheng postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Canarinho looks a forlorn figure.

Cheng prevents Canarinho from getting the reversal.

Canarinho is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Cheng locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Canarinho is forced to tap!
