PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Barry Obomba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James has chosen Aphex Twin-Come To Daddy as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Obomba shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Obomba has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Obomba goes for an armbar but he's not got it… James turns into him and now he's in Obomba's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
James lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Obomba circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Obomba shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Obomba, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
