The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Mondragon keeps the fight on the outside.
Lucan moves into range and clinches up with Mondragon.
Mondragon wants the takedown. Lucan is fighting it off but Mondragon persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lucan's guard against the ropes. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Lucan (0) vs (2) Mondragon
Lucan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mondragon controls the pace.
Lucan wants to sweep here but Mondragon controlling him for the moment.
Lucan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mondragon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mondragon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Lucan content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Mondragon has locked up a guillotine! Mondragon's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Lucan is holding on here and Mondragon must be using up a lot of energy. Lucan has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mondragon gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
