PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soso Anzor (ranked 2899 p4p, 4868 weight class) and Othmar Langel (ranked 135 p4p, 0 weight class). Langel has chosen Domain of Decay - Celtic Frost as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Othmar Langel!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anzor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Langel avoids it really well and circles away.
It seemed like Langel was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Anzor misses with a body punch
letting Langel counter with a right hand.
Anzor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Langel's waist but Langel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Anzor off to one side.
Langel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Soso Anzor. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Anzor tries to keep at a distance but Langel has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anzor is trying to drag Langel to the mat but Langel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Langel.

Langel wants a takedown but no success here.
Anzor throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Anzor manages to break the clinch.
Anzor has a takedown stuffed.
Langel is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Anzor fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Langel now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Anzor looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Langel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anzor.

and Langel makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Anzor shoots in for a takedown but Langel shows good takedown defense.
Langel appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Anzor is trying hard to land a takedown here. Langel sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Anzor shoots in but no luck this time.
Langel scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Anzor doesn't seem bothered though.
Anzor is breathing heavily.

Langel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Anzor, pushing him back against the cage.

Langel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Langel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Anzor attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Langel lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Anzor goes for a double leg but Langel avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Langel continues to drive forward.

Langel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Anzor shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Anzor was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Langel tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Anzor is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Langel is surviving well by controlling Anzor's body position as best he can.
Anzor scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anzor pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Anzor has control of Langel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Langel regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Langel wants to try and get back to his feet.

Anzor sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Anzor is landing with some decent strikes but Langel is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Anzor postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Langel out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Anzor goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Soso Anzor!
Soso Anzor tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
The defeated Othmar Langel had this to say: 'Well then..'.
