These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
shaw doesn't manage to clinch there - Hamilton circles away.
A nice combination there by Hamilton.
Hamilton stuffs the takedown.
shaw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hamilton's waist but Hamilton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing shaw off to one side.

shaw shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

shaw wants to get up but he can't break Hamilton's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hamilton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with shaw, pushing him back against the cage.

shaw works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Hamilton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on shaw, up you get!

shaw has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hamilton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
