Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapad Amiga (ranked 24717 p4p, 24512 weight class) and Rico Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 25 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 25 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Amiga looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Salvacion throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Amiga's waist but Amiga gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Salvacion off to one side.
Salvacion fails to land the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amiga fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Amiga is defended easily by Salvacion.
A nice side step and Salvacion releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Salvacion fakes the leg kick and cracks Amiga in the body.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Salvacion looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tapad Amiga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Salvacion.
Amiga darts in looking for a takedown but Salvacion gets double underhooks and turns Amiga into the cage.
Salvacion follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Salvacion has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Amiga tries to score a body lock takedown but Salvacion shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Salvacion pulls Amiga into guard.
Amiga slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Amiga's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Salvacion is pulling down on Amiga's head to control his posture.

Amiga dives in and scores a takedown into Salvacion's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Amiga is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Salvacion wants to sweep here but Amiga controlling him for the moment.

Amiga looking to sit in guard and control but Salvacion gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Amiga holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Salvacion shoots for a double leg takedown but Amiga sprawls well. He's pushed Salvacion's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Amiga changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Salvacion fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Salvacion drives through with a takedown into Amiga's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Amiga stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Amiga wants it to stay on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Amiga goes for a double leg but Salvacion avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Salvacion continues to drive forward.
Salvacion steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Salvacion is pressed up against the cage. Amiga has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Salvacion down to the mat. Salvacion avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Salvacion stuffs the takedown attempt from Amiga. Amiga gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapad Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rico Salvacion comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
