Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Piercer (ranked 1845 p4p, 1243 weight class) and Senger Line (ranked 248 p4p, 172 weight class). Line is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: For Heavy Metal we will die!. John Piercer had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Piercer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Senger Line!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Line tries a head kick but it misses.
Line misses with a body shot.
The fighters circling - Piercer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Line throws a fast counter high kick but Piercer manages to duck under it in time.
Line lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Piercer missing with a left hand there. Line was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Piercer lands a really nice looking cross but Line seems unphased.
Line tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Piercer was well out of range. Poor timing from Line.
Line pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Line fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice cross by Piercer.
Piercer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Line moves away.

Line turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Line has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Piercer misses with a looping left.
Line pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Piercer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Line.
Line missing with a left hand there. Piercer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Piercer loads up on a big right hand but Line slips the punch.
Donk. Line catches Piercer right on the button with a cross.
Line moves away from the strike by Piercer.

It looks like Senger Line has been cut.
Piercer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Piercer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Line at a distance.

Piercer scores with a hook to the body. Line takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Line throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Piercer's head.
Nice defenses there by Piercer.
Line misses with a low kick.
Line avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Piercer misses with a lunging right hand
and Line counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Line feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Piercers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
John Piercer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Line lands a jab.
Piercer keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Line drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Line slips a jab from Piercer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Line dives in for a single leg takedown but Piercer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Piercer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Line.
Line misses with a straight left.

Piercer gets caught flat footed, as Line shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Line throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Line pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Piercer is keeping the position for now.

Piercer has momentary wrist control but Line slips an elbow through the middle.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Piercer holds on and takes a little breather.
Piercer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Line in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Line lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Piercer looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Piercer is trying to hold Line in close to prevent damage but Line has managed to pass into half guard.
Line throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Piercer trying to hold on to Line's head to control him but Line postures up.
Piercer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Line scores with a couple of nice shots.
Piercer gets full guard.
Line slips nicely into half guard.

Line thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Piercer's head.
Piercer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Line on the ground.
Line landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Piercer tries to roll over but Line keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ground and pound from Line.
Line has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Line is looking to take a break and control but Piercer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Piercer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Piercer tries to get to full guard but Line has control of the leg.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Senger Line will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Senger Line's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Line takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Line connects with an inside leg kick.
Piercer needs to keep his hands up - Line had a free shot at his head there.
Senger Line seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Line misses with an attempted mid kick.
Line staying out of range there.
Piercer connects with a good right hand that stumbles Line. Line circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Piercer throws a lazy right hand but Line sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Line uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Piercer.
Piercer fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Piercer throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Piercer takes one on the button.
Piercer looks to land a left hand but Line moved out of range nicely.
Piercer wants to slow Line down by chopping away at his legs.
And Line tries to counter it with a takedown but Piercer pushes his down on his head and steps out.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big left from Piercer misses.
Line slips under a jab from Piercer.
Piercer motions for Line to come forward. Piercer throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Line looks to land a combination but Piercer avoids it well.
Line throws a low kick but it's checked well by Piercer.
Horrible takedown attempt by Line or perhaps it was just good defense by Piercer, which made it look bad.

Piercer throws a nice looking combination but Line bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A head kick misses from Line.
Piercer moves into range and connects with a jab.
Piercer throws a series of punches but Line avoids them all with ease.
Line is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Line shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Piercer napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Piercer is looking to reverse the position.
Piercer takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Piercer takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Line looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Piercer is avoiding damage well.
Line wants to lay and pray for a moment but Piercer keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Piercer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Senger Line has got the better of the ground game so far.

Line content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Piercer is looking for a sweep.
Piercer taking punishment in the form of punches.
Piercer is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Line off and has taken his back!
Line tries to break free.

Line breaks Piercer's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Piercer preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Line wants to control from the top but Piercer keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Piercer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Line.
Line throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Line is looking to work some ground and pound but Piercer has wrist control.

Line loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Line wants to control from the top but Piercer keeps moving.
Line postures up in Piercer's guard and throws a big left but Piercer blocks it.
Piercer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Line will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Line is looking to slow Piercer down with leg kicks.
Line closes the distance and clinches up with Piercer, looking for a takedown. Line pushes Piercer against the cage but Piercer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Senger Line will probably get the nod - 10:9.

John Piercer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Piercer takes a swing at Line's ribcage but misses.
Line throws an overhand right that lands on Piercer's shoulder, as Piercer tries to avoid the shot.
Good standup being displayed there by Piercer as he connects with a hook.
A punch lands to the side of Line 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Line moves into the clinch.
Piercer misses with a punch to the body.
Line swings wildly with an uppercut but Piercer uses good head movement to avoid it.

Piercer swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Piercer tries a body shot but Line blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Line has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Piercer clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Line misses with punches from the back.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Line. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Piercer controlling his opponent's hands, preventing the submission attempt.
Line somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Line.
Piercer wants to control his opponent's hands but Line gets his hands free.
Line just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Piercer staying busy and making it hard for Line to control.
Line scores with punches from the back.
John Piercer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Line has the hooks in. Piercer is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Line lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Piercer.
Line has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Piercer's body.
I really don't envy Piercer right now.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Line.

Piercer can't escape the position.
Line lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Piercer is keeping busy.
Line gets his hands free as Piercer looks to control.
Piercer tries to break free.
Piercer trying to control the position but Line manages to sink in the hooks.
Line punches the canvas rather than the man.
Line landing with strikes.

Piercer is rocked!
Line lands strikes from the back and Piercer isn't doing enough to escape the position. The referee steps in to end the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Senger Line!
A relieved looking Senger Line thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
