Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Martins (ranked 4426 p4p, 4896 weight class) and Sam Raymond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Raymond has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Martins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Raymond!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martins fails with an attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Martins is defended easily by Raymond.
Martins shoots for a takedown but Raymond saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Raymond misses with a takedown attempt - Martins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Martins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Raymond manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Martins on his heels. He'll look to pass Martins's guard now, I'm sure.

Raymond changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Martins tries to avoid it but Raymond manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Martins to the ground. Martins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Raymond takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Martins changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Raymond misses with a low kick as Martins jumps back.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Martins keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Raymond's efforts to push away.
Martins drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Raymond gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Raymond is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Martins gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Raymond's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Martins shoots in looking for a takedown. Raymond tries to sprawl out of it but Martins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Raymond manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Raymond throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Martins.
Raymond tries to bum rush Martins with a series of wild strikes but Martins uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Raymond fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Martins on the side of the head.
Raymond loads up on a big right hand but Martins slips the punch.

Raymond bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Raymond tries to score a power double leg takedown but Martins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Raymond somewhat.

Raymond got a little sloppy there for a moment and Martins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Raymond has managed to get both his arms back between Martins's legs - danger averted.

Martins closes the distance and clinches up with Raymond, looking for a takedown. Martins pushes Raymond against the cage but Raymond circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sam Raymond showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Raymond tries to move into range but Martins moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

As Martins backs off Raymond throws a huge counter combo but Martins manages to avoid it all.
Raymond dives in and grabs Martins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Martins pushes down on Raymond's head and hops out.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well Raymond has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
