Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lubomir Sultsina!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sultsina lands a jab.
Griffin attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Sultsina dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Griffin. That did some damage!
Sultsina displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Griffin throws out the jab.
Sultsina jabs at Griffin's body.
Griffin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Griffin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Sultsina misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Griffin circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sultsina throws a head kick that misses.
Sultsina throws a leg kick which misses Griffin's front leg but catches the back leg as Griffin tries to avoid it.
Griffin misses with a takedown attempt
and Griffin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Griffin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sultsina tries to clinch up but Griffin circles away and keeps his distance.

Good leg kick by Sultsina.
Sultsina misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sultsina takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Griffin lands a nice hook to Sultsina's body. Sultsina takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sultsina rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Griffin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sultsina fails in his attempt to clinch.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sultsina as he jumps to the side.
Sultsina lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Sultsina tries to close the distance and clinch up but Griffin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sultsina drops his hands momentarily and Griffin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Griffin swats away the attempt to clinch by Sultsina.
Griffin changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Lubomir Sultsina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Griffin takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Sultsina clinches up against the cage.
Griffin misses with the head strike.
Griffin blocks the elbow strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sultsina trying to land knees to the body.

Griffin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Griffin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Griffin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sultsina is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Griffin, into his guard.

Griffin has a closed guard, preventing Sultsina from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Griffin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Griffin wants to sweep but no luck.
Griffin is working hard here to advance position.
Sultsina content to stall in guard here.
Sultsina trying to control the position from guard on top but Griffin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Griffin is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Sultsina rolls with it to try and escape but Griffin cranks on the arm and Sultsina is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
