Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lion Tiger (ranked 172 p4p, 720 weight class) and Tungsten Kaafjord (ranked 28 p4p, 82 weight class). Tiger comes to the cage accompanied by Alok - Hear Me Tonight. Kaafjord has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lion Tiger!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tungsten Kaafjord!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaafjord shoots in and bounces Tiger off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Tiger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kaafjord is looking to work some ground and pound but Tiger has wrist control.
Kaafjord is stalling in the full guard.
Tiger on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tiger tries to get out of the position.
Kaafjord wants to control from the top but Tiger keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaafjord trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Tiger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kaafjord on the ground.
Tiger is trying to stand up here but Kaafjord is controlling him well.

Kaafjord is looking to take a break and control but Tiger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kaafjord is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Tiger will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kaafjord tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Tiger on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Tiger is looking to regain half guard here but Kaafjord keeps moving and retains side control.
Tiger looking for a sweep but Kaafjord has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Kaafjord trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Kaafjord is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Tiger has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Tiger!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tiger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kaafjord has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tiger has managed to get both his arms back between Kaafjord's legs - danger averted.

Kaafjord is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kaafjord is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kaafjord is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tiger is aware though and is defending well.

Kaafjord is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tiger defends well.

Kaafjord looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Tiger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kaafjord has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tiger has managed to get both his arms back between Kaafjord's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kaafjord is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kaafjord is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kaafjord has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kaafjord is nestled in close to Tiger, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kaafjord thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tiger's head.
Kaafjord is looking to take a break and control but Tiger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kaafjord looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Kaafjord looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tiger with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kaafjord is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tiger on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Tiger is trying to control but can't.

Kaafjord is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tiger has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaafjord lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Kaafjord is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Tiger wants to improve his position but Kaafjord is controlling well.
Tiger has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kaafjord is working away from the top position though.

Kaafjord is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tiger is just riding it out for now. Kaafjord eventually gives up the hold.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tungsten Kaafjord showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Tiger keeps the fight on the outside.
A counter left hand to the body from Tiger misses its target.
Kaafjord takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

It looks like Tungsten Kaafjord has been cut.
Kaafjord scores with a shot to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Tiger. No joy for Kaafjord on that attempt.
Tiger lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Kaafjord lands a big uppercut and Tiger crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Tiger looks OK. Kaafjord waves Tiger back to his feet!

It looks like Lion Tiger has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kaafjord closes the distance and clinches.
Kaafjord is trying to drag Tiger to the mat but Tiger just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Tiger pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kaafjord misses with a jab to the body
and Kaafjord takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tiger misses the shot to the body.
Kaafjord appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Kaafjord throws a sloppy head kick and Tiger moves out of range easily.
Tiger moves out of range as Kaafjord throws a body kick.
Tiger is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Tiger swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Tiger takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Left hook, right uppercut from Tiger.
Tiger has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tiger there as he acknowledges the shot.

Kaafjord scores with a takedown into Tiger's guard.

Tiger is rocked!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Kaafjord trying to control the position from guard on top but Tiger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kaafjord is pushing down on Tiger's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tiger is fighting to maintain full guard but Kaafjord has managed to sneak the leg through.
Kaafjord wants to control but Tiger is keeping him busy.

Kaafjord seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tiger does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kaafjord in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Tiger tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kaafjord!
