Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bimbo Slide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franklin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mudvayne - Not Falling. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Franklin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Franklin tries to advance to mount but can't.

Franklin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Slide, who protects the arm well.

Franklin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Franklin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Slide sneaks out the side door and pushes Franklin away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Franklin moves out of range of the body kick from Slide.
Franklin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Franklin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Franklin lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Franklin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slide but Slide pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Franklin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Slide is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Franklin, into his guard.

Franklin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Slide!
Slide wants to control but Franklin is having none of it.

Slide avoids a strike by Franklin and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Franklin's guard! Fantastic escape!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Franklin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Slide looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Franklin wants to control but Slide is keeping him busy.

Franklin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Slide knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ground and pound from Franklin seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Franklin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Franklin has hold of Slide's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Slide manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Franklin goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Slide turns into him and now he's in Franklin's guard.
Slide tries to stand but Franklin is controlling from the bottom.

Franklin wants to sweep but no luck.

Franklin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Slide is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Franklin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Slide's back instead.
Slide manages to reverse the position and now he's in Franklin's guard. Nice work there by Slide.
Slide forces his way into half guard.
Franklin tries to get to full guard but Slide has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Franklin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Slide throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Franklin shoots for a takedown but Slide saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Slide darts in trying to clinch

and Franklin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Slide!

Franklin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Slide is now in Franklin's guard. A big mistake from Franklin there, giving up the dominant position!

Franklin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Slide escapes and throws Franklin's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Franklin is trying to drag Slide to the mat but Slide just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
