The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura shoots in for a takedown but Magomedov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Abubakar Magomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakamura gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Magomedov counters with a straight right hand.
Magomedov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

It looks like Ren Nakamura has been cut.
Nakamura closes the distance and clinches up with Magomedov, looking for a takedown. Nakamura pushes Magomedov against the cage but Magomedov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Magomedov wants to stand and escape but Nakamura is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nakamura thows a huge punch but Magomedov dodges it nicely.
