Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salazar has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short left from Salazar.
Salazar misses with some punches.
Mato takes an elbow to the forehead.
Mato wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Salazar scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Mato goes for a takedown attempt but Salazar pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Diego Salazar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Salazar closes the distance and clinches.
Salazar scores with a nice hook to the head.
Salazar lands an elbow inside that Mato shrugs off.

It looks like Ryuji Mato has been cut.
Mato has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Salazar after a bit of a struggle.

Salazar lands a vicious elbow to the side of Mato's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Salazar tries to finish him with strikes but Mato still seems able to defend himself so Salazar steps back and lets Mato get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.

Salazar rushes Mato and presses him up against the cage.

Salazar gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Mato drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
