The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ta Manuhiri is looking to clinch but Kane is avoiding it.
Kane misses with a hook. Ta Manuhiri ducked under it nicely.
Ta Manuhiri tries to close the distance and clinch but Kane swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ta Manuhiri breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ta Manuhiri tries to clinch up but Kane circles away and keeps his distance.
Kane misses with a hook
and Ta Manuhiri counters with a series of strikes. Kane will be more careful next time no doubt.

Kane shoots in but no luck this time.
Ta Manuhiri is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kane swats away the attempt to clinch by Ta Manuhiri.

Ta Manuhiri wants to stand and escape but Kane is having none of it.

Kane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Kane engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Kane stands and throws Ta Manuhiri's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kane remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kane advances to full mount.
