The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels throws a right and a left that Hellmuth avoids nicely.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Hellmuth tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Michaels is able to avoid easily.
Michaels misses with a body shot.
Hellmuth misses with a hook. Michaels ducked under it nicely.
Hellmuth cracks Michaels with an open hand slap.
A slow jab from Hellmuth misses its intended target.
Michaels shoots in but no luck this time.
Michaels misses with a takedown attempt - Hellmuth sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Michaels tries to bum rush Hellmuth with a series of wild strikes but Hellmuth uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Michaels ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hellmuth moves away.
Hellmuth swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hellmuth lands a nice leg kick that just misses Michaels's sensitive parts.

Phil Hellmuth is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hellmuth cracks Michaels with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hellmuth has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Michaels to stand back up!

It looks like Shawn Michaels has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hellmuth darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Michaels's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Hellmuth before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
