Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Harlin Faliaygo (ranked 1826 p4p, 4019 weight class) and Derk Voorheis (ranked 250 p4p, 466 weight class). Derk Voorheis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harlin Faliaygo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Derk Voorheis!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voorheis takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Faliaygo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Voorheis throws out a counter right but Faliaygo avoids it with no problem.
We've been informed that Voorheis has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Voorheis connects with a jab.
Faliaygo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Voorheis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Faliaygo.
Faliaygo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Voorheis sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Voorheis throws out a counter right but Faliaygo avoids it with no problem.
A jab lands there for Faliaygo.
Faliaygo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Voorheiss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Faliaygo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Voorheis counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Faliaygo thinking.
Faliaygo wants to slow Voorheis down by chopping away at his legs.
Faliaygo drops his hands momentarily and Voorheis takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Faliaygo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Voorheis sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Voorheis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Faliaygo is trying to defend but Voorheis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Voorheis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Faliaygo's head.
Faliaygo is trying to get back to full guard.
Voorheis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Voorheis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Faliaygo wants to control but Voorheis passes easily into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Voorheis connects with a nice short shot to Faliaygo's temple.

Faliaygo has hold of Voorheis's hands but Voorheis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Voorheis is nestled in close to Faliaygo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Voorheis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Faliaygo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Faliaygo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Voorheis stands up over Faliaygo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Faliaygo walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Faliaygo limp body while Voorheis jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Derk Voorheis!
