Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mitsugu Takeishi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Gatis Krutainis!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krutainis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Takeishi connects with a body shot.
Krutainis throws a sloppy head kick and Takeishi moves out of range easily.
Krutainis fails with the takedown
and Takeishi counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice sprawl there from Takeishi as Krutainis shoots in.
Krutainis gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Takeishi has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Silverback MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Krutainis takes one to the side of the head.
Jab by Takeishi.
Takeishi lands a right hook to the body.
Takeishi lands with a nice body punch.
Krutainis looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Krutainis with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Takeishi to score with a decent uppercut.
Takeishi is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Krutainis doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Takeishi counters with a straight right hand.
Mitsugu Takeishi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gatis Krutainis.
Takeishi circles away from the clinch attempt
and Takeishi counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Gatis Krutainis has been cut.
Takeishi is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Takeishi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Krutainiss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Krutainis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Takeishi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Krutainis misses with a wild combination.
Takeishi scores with a nice right hand.
Nice uppercut there from Takeishi.
A left lands for Takeishi.
Takeishi is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Takeishi connects with a crisp jab.
Krutainis takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Takeishi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Takeishi keeps the fight on the outside.
Takeishi connects with a crisp jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Krutainis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Krutainis takes a jab right on the kisser.
Takeishi lands a jab.

Takeishi feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Krutainis sprawling to the canvas! Krutainis rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Takeishi finish him?!

Krutainis is rocked!
Krutainis leaves his chin hanging out and Takeishi seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Krutainis crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mitsugu Takeishi!
An out of breath Mitsugu Takeishi thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
