PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bomstaerk (ranked 663 p4p, 1588 weight class) and Doko Dokov (ranked 101 p4p, 212 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Doko Dokov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doko Dokov!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dokov swinging wildly here.

Dokov clinches.
Bomstaerk misses with a short punch on the inside.
Dokov lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Bomstaerk has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dokov regains guard immediately.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been informed that Dokov has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Bomstaerk has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Dokov clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Bomstaerk throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dokov was covering up waiting for the punch and Bomstaerk finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We've been hearing that Bomstaerk has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Dokov has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bomstaerk is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dokov.

Bomstaerk fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dokov sprawls well initially but Bomstaerk persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bomstaerk closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dokov to the mat! Dokov manages to get full guard.

Dokov will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

A close round but Doko Dokov will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bomstaerk is nestled in close to Dokov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bobby Bomstaerk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dokov softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Bomstaerk is out cold! Dokov jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

An out of breath Doko Dokov thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
