PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Bundy (ranked 796 p4p, 812 weight class) and ZaDarius Haden (ranked 104 p4p, 105 weight class). Haden has chosen Mot�rhead - Orgasmatron as his entrance music. Ted Bundy has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ted Bundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, ZaDarius Haden!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bundy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bundy showed some decent athleticism there.
Haden is trying is best to control the position here.
Bundy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Haden does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bundy thows a huge punch but Haden dodges it nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bundy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Haden sees it coming and defends easily.
Haden is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bundy is nestled in close to Haden, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bundy has hold of Haden's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Haden manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Haden sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Bundy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Bundy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Bundy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bundy goes for an armbar but Haden turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Haden.

Bundy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Haden is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Bundy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bundy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Haden holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Haden lands with a hook. Bundy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Bundy has been working on his balance at Champion Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Haden.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bundy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haden swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bundy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bundy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
