Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Medeiros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ivan Putski!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Putski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Medeiros swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Medeiros swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Putski is looking to clinch.
An attempted straight right counter from Medeiros misses the target.

Putski closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Putski lands in his opponent's guard.
Putski slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Putski won't allow Medeiros to sweep him here.

Putski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Medeiros manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Putski has Medeiros in his guard.

Medeiros is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Medeiros's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Putski is trying to control the position but Medeiros postures up.
Medeiros slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Medeiros happy to just control the position for now.
You can see the frustration on Putski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Medeiros is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Putski's shoulder. That is not cool.
Medeiros is looking to take a break and control but Putski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
You can see the frustration on Putski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Medeiros ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Medeiros loads up on a big right hand but Putski slips the punch.
Putski takes a swing at Medeiros's ribcage but misses.
Putski tries to clinch but Medeiros moves out of range.

Putski moves into range and clinches up with Medeiros.
Medeiros is trying to break the clinch but Putski is controlling him.
Medeiros looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Medeiros is looking to break free of the clinch but Putski has double underhooks.

Medeiros breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Putski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Medeiros counters with a stiff right hand.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rodrigo Medeiros dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A decent looking cross lands there for Medeiros.
Putski lands a jab-cross combination.
Putski gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Medeiros connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Decent striking displayed by Medeiros there.
Nice sprawl there from Medeiros as Putski shoots in.
Medeiros swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A head kick by Putski misses

so Medeiros counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Medeiros controls from within his opponent's guard.

Putski has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Putski wants to sweep here but Medeiros controlling him for the moment.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Putski pushes Medeiros up against the cage in a clinch.
Putski tries to pull guard but Medeiros holds him up against the cage and eventually Putski drops back down to his feet.
Putski is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Medeiros gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Rodrigo Medeiros has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Putski.
Medeiros is trying to break the clinch but Putski is controlling him.

Medeiros's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Medeiros stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Medeiros wants it to stay on the feet.
Ivan Putski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Medeiros cracks Putski with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Putski shoots in and drives through. Medeiros sprawls well.
Rodrigo Medeiros is winning the standup battle so far.
Putski is breathing heavily.

Putski uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Medeiros.

Medeiros scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Rodrigo Medeiros overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Medeiros avoids the attempt from Putski to control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Medeiros, as that shot connected.
Putski throws a sloppy head kick and Medeiros moves out of range easily.
Putski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Medeiros avoids it really well and circles away.
Medeiros tries to counter by clinching up but Putski breaks away and moves out of range.
Medeiros swats away the attempt to clinch by Putski.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Putski steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Medeiros.
Putski needs to keep his hands up - Medeiros had a free shot at his head there.
Medeiros is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Putski can do to turn this around?
Putski takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Putski has his takedown stuffed
enabling Medeiros to counter with a crisp jab.
Medeiros blocks the body kick.
Medeiros scores with a punch to the head.

It looks like Ivan Putski has been cut.
Putski with a poor takedown
and Medeiros counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Rodrigo Medeiros has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Putski.
Putski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Putski throws a low kick but it's checked well by Medeiros.
Medeiros moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Putski is rocked!
Medeiros bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Putski is still on wobbly legs! Can Medeiros finish him?
Putski closes the distance but Medeiros moves to the side
and Medeiros counters with a big left hand that crumples Putski! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!
