PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sven Torvik (ranked 99 p4p, 105 weight class) and Gregory Motts (ranked 8 p4p, 8 weight class). Torvik comes to the cage accompanied by MUPP & Sadfriendd - BLOODY!. Gregory Motts told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sven Torvik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregory Motts!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motts lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Sven Torvik has been cut.
Torvik throws a front kick aimed at Motts's knee but Motts avoids it well.
Motts throws out a counter right but Torvik avoids it with no problem.
Torvik throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Motts sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Torvik takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Nice body kick from Torvik.
Motts just misses with a punch to the body.
Torvik lands a really nice looking cross but Motts seems unphased.
A left lands for Torvik.
Torvik lets loose with a powerful body kick. Motts will feel that in the morning.
A solid leg kick lands there for Torvik.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Torvik throws a good cross that connects.
Motts misses with an uppercut. Torvik saw that one coming.
Torvik looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A jab from Torvik finds it's way through Motts's defenses.
Sven Torvik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Torvik feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Motts sprawling to the canvas! Motts rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Torvik finish him?!

Motts is rocked!
Torvik lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Motts connects with a looping right hand.
Motts checks the leg kick nicely there.
Torvik will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Motts missing with a left hand there. Torvik was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
An attempted straight right counter from Torvik misses the target.
Motts throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Torvik swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Motts misses with an uppercut.
Motts has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Torvik.
Torvik falls off balance throwing a combination
and Motts counters with a nice uppercut.

Sven Torvik's cut is getting worse.
Motts keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Motts swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Motts throws out a loose jab but Torvik uses good head movement to avoid it.

Torvik slips under a jab from Motts.
Torvik misses with a low kick as Motts jumps back.
Torvik throws a head kick but Motts moves out of range.
Torvik cracks Motts with an open hand slap.
Torvik misses with a looping right.
Motts swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Torvik.
Torvik avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A jab lands there for Motts.
Torvik connects with a solid leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Torvik lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Motts has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Motts and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Torvik counters with a nice uppercut.

Motts throws a body shot but no joy.

and Torvik counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Motts throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Torvik was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Motts uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Torvik.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Motts! But no joy.

Motts might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Motts throws a poor cross that misses
and Torvik connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Good shot there by Motts.
Motts looks to land a right hand but Torvik moved out of range.
Torvik is looking to counter punch.
Torvik avoids the body shot from Motts.

A combination from Torvik does no damage.

It seemed like Motts was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Torvik lands a left and a right that send Motts crashing to the mat, dazed. Torvik thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Motts is still on wobbly legs! Can Torvik finish him?
Torvik darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Motts's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Torvik before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sven Torvik!
A very excited looking Sven Torvik made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
