Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Corwin Anstey (ranked 2596 p4p, 5294 weight class) and Bjorn IronSide (ranked 324 p4p, 513 weight class). Bjorn IronSide has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 29 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bjorn IronSide!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anstey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but IronSide moves away.
IronSide throws out a leg kick but Anstey moves out of range and IronSide only half commits.
Anstey was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

IronSide clinches up with Anstey and pushes him back against the cage.

IronSide breaks from the clinch.

IronSide closes the distance and clinches.
Anstey is working for takedown but IronSide is calmly controlling the position for now.
Anstey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. IronSide fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Anstey wants to clinch.
IronSide is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

IronSide fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Anstey, pushing him back against the cage.

IronSide stalks Anstey and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Anstey's face. Anstey staggers backwards, shaken.
Corwin Anstey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anstey swats away the attempt to clinch by IronSide.
We've been told by Anstey's head coaches at Sparks gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Anstey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Anstey swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by IronSide.

IronSide closes the distance and clinches.

Anstey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
IronSide shoots in for a takedown but Anstey shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Anstey drops IronSide with a beautiful combination! IronSide stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Anstey is looking for the KO!

It looks like Bjorn IronSide has been cut.
We've been informed that IronSide has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

IronSide misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
IronSide throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
IronSide seems to have recovered his senses.
IronSide gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anstey.

Anstey has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed IronSide clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

IronSide looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
IronSide covering up well under a series of strikes from Anstey.

Anstey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
IronSide is trying to break free.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Anstey gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

IronSide pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Anstey back to the cage. IronSide follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

IronSide wants to counter the offense by Anstey and move into the clinch position.

Anstey cracks IronSide with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! IronSide looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Anstey finish him?
