Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Geo Versu (ranked 3324 p4p, 1789 weight class) and Mohsin Zaidi (ranked 447 p4p, 273 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Geo Versu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mohsin Zaidi!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Versu defending well as Zaidi loads up on a big left hand.
A swing and a miss from Versu.
Zaidi closes the distance looking to clinch
and Versu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zaidi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Versu throwing a counter right hand but Zaidi manages to avoid it.
Versu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zaidi.
Versu wants to land a leg kick but Zaidi is out of range.
Mohsin Zaidi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zaidi lunges at Versu with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Versu's hand.
Zaidi lands a front kick.
Versu lands a nice leg kick that just misses Zaidi's sensitive parts.
Zaidi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Zaidi misses with a hook to the body
and Versu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Zaidi is looking to slow Versu down with leg kicks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zaidi. Versu does a little dance to reset his feet.
It looked like Versu was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Versu has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Versu avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Zaidi has a takedown stuffed.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Versu dodges the punch combination from Zaidi.
Versu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Versu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Versu looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Zaidi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Versu looks to land a left hand but Zaidi moved out of range nicely.
A countering left hand to the body from Zaidi misses.
Versu tries to work over Zaidi's front leg with a kick but Zaidi checks it.
Zaidi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Versu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Versu jabs Zaidi right on the nose. Zaidi blinks but takes it well.
Zaidi checks a leg kick nicely.
Zaidi misses with a body shot.
Zaidi with a jab.
Zaidi throws out a loose jab but Versu uses good head movement to avoid it.
Geo Versu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Versu lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Versu lands an elbow that stopped Zaidi in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Mohsin Zaidi has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Versu gets through Zaidi's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Zaidi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Versu ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Zaidi bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zaidi throws a right hand that misses
and Versu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Zaidi misses with a left hand
and Versu makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Zaidi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Versu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Zaidi is looking to clinch.
Versu connects with a single shot there.

That has opened up Mohsin Zaidi's cut even more.
Versu tries a head kick but it misses.
Zaidi flicks out a counter leg kick but Versu steps away.
The fighters circle, before Versu throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Zaidi's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Versu lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
