PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Missa Fook (ranked 6183 p4p, 4342 weight class) and Gaven Mcqueen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fook lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Gaven Mcqueen has been cut.
Missa Fook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcqueen throws a right hand that Fook ducks under and follows up with a left that Fook also avoids with ease.
Fook throws a leg kick which misses Mcqueen 's front leg but catches the back leg as Mcqueen tries to avoid it.
Fook changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mcqueen tries to avoid it but Fook manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mcqueen to the ground. Mcqueen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fook fails to land the takedown.

Mcqueen has closed the distance and engaged Fook in a clinch.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mcqueen ! But no joy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fook will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mcqueen is pushing Fook up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Fook shoots in looking for a takedown but Mcqueen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fook's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mcqueen connects with a leg kick.

Fook gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mcqueen to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Fook manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Fook is breathing heavily.
The referee calls for Mcqueen to work.

Mcqueen jumps into guard, dragging Fook to the mat.

Fook got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mcqueen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fook has managed to get both his arms back between Mcqueen 's legs - danger averted.

Fook throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mcqueen 's waist but Mcqueen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fook off to one side.
