Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Zombie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole comes to the cage accompanied by Boom. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zombie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Zombie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cole was well out of range. Poor timing from Zombie.

Zombie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cole swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cole jumps guard but Zombie stands there with Cole around his waist. Cole gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Zombie wants the takedown. Cole is fighting it off but Zombie persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cole's guard against the cage.

Cole working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zombie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zombie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Cole will probably get the nod.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Cole.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cole feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
