Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kong Wu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bob Sapp!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wu leaves Sapp with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wu tries to counter by clinching up but Sapp breaks away and moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Sapp gets the takedown into side control.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Wu tries to buck Sapp off but Sapp is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sapp thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Wu is looking to reverse the position.
Sapp creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sapp throws an elbow but Wu slips to the side and avoids it well.
Sapp connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Wu some visible discomfort.
Sapp sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Wu is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Sapp moves into full mount!
Wu avoids a series of strikes thrown by Sapp.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sapp scores with a couple of good head shots there.

It looks like Kong Wu has been cut.
Sapp connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Sapp in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Wu is rocked!

Kong Wu's cut is getting worse.
Sapp content just to control the position here.
Oh Wu is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sapp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A big strike lands for Sapp! That's really hurt Wu and he's turned his back - Sapp keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Sapp jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Sapp!
