PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jerson Ruas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Crazy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crazy comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Crazy Train kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jerson Ruas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Crazy!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crazy shoots in looking for a takedown. Ruas tries to sprawl out of it but Crazy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ruas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Crazy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Crazy lands with an uppercut that bounces Ruas off the cage and back into rage.
Crazy throws a series of punches but Ruas moves out of range.
Ruas shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Crazy but Crazy pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ruas takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Crazy throws a right and a left that Ruas avoids nicely.

Crazy throws a nice looking combination but Ruas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Crazy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Ruas scores a takedown into full mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Crazy can do anything to dispel that myth.
Crazy wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Crazy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ruas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ruas working for a submission but Crazy is keeping him at bay.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ruas is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Crazy can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Crazy bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Ruas is looking to sweep but instead, Crazy has passed into half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ruas tries to get to full guard but Crazy has control of the leg.

Ruas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Crazy is looking to escape.
Crazy is desperately trying to improve his position but Ruas has a good base and remains in mount.

Ruas is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Crazy has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Crazy throws out a loose jab but Ruas uses good head movement to avoid it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Crazy throws a right hand that Ruas ducks under and follows up with a left that Ruas also avoids with ease.

Crazy's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Crazy wants to get back to his feet.
Crazy tries to lock up and control but Ruas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Crazy is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Jerson Ruas showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Ruas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
