The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fontes misses with a takedown attempt - Houston sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Fontes doesn't manage to clinch there - Houston circles away.
Houston fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Fontes on the side of the head.

It looks like Lucas Fontes has been cut.

Houston swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Fontes's coach down at California Top Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Fontes's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hank Houston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Fontes.
Fontes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Houston as he jumps to the side.

Lucas Fontes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Houston rushes Fontes with punches - Fontes moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Fontes goes down! Houston follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
