Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Bane (ranked 3727 p4p, 4509 weight class) and Elija Montez (ranked 161 p4p, 180 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Maximus Bane has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Maximus Bane seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elija Montez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bane moves in looking to clinch but Montez pushes him off.

Montez closes the distance and pushes Bane back into the ropes.
Montez is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Bane takes a knee right on the jaw!
Bane managing to block the knees to the body from Montez.

Montez manages to break the clinch.

Bane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Montez's guard.
Bane trying to control but Montez is working from the bottom.
Montez has a closed guard, preventing Bane from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bane throwing strikes from guard but Montez blocks nicely.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Bane works over Montez with some ground and pound from guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Montez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bane is controlling him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Montez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Montez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Bane trying to stand up but can't free himself from Montez's guard.
Montez keeping moving, preventing Bane from controlling successfully.
Bane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Montez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bane is looking to stand up but Montez won't let him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bane dives in and scores a takedown into Montez's guard.
Montez looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Bane puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Bane seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Bane is trying to work for a kimura but Montez is defending well.
Montez is looking to control Bane's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Montez avoid being mounted?
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bane wants to lay and pray for a moment but Montez keeps working.
Bane performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Maximus Bane.
I think Bane has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
