Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eder Munhoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Giles Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munhoz blocks a head kick by Edwards.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Edwards.

Edwards throws a head kick but Munhoz moves out of range.
Edwards looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Munhoz is fending him off so far but Edwards persists. Nope, Munhoz circles away and we're back to standing.

Munhoz looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Munhoz manages to capitalize on a mistake by Edwards to take his back!
Edwards rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Munhoz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Edwards doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Munhoz.

Munhoz is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Edwards has managed to free his arm - good work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Edwards counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Munhoz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Munhoz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Edwards keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Munhoz's head.

Munhoz has his foot on Edwards's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Edwards works his way back into a safe position though.

Edwards makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Edwards is pushing down on Munhoz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Munhoz is fighting to maintain full guard but Edwards has managed to sneak the leg through.
Edwards looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Munhoz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Munhoz as he avoids it easily.

Munhoz feints and as Edwards raises his hands in defense, Munhoz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Munhoz wants to control from the top but Edwards keeps moving.

Munhoz drops back looking for a leg! Edwards is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Edwards manages to kick Munhoz off! Munhoz jumps back into Edwards's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Munhoz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Edwards shoots in and bounces Munhoz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Munhoz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Edwards distracts Munhoz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Edwards is posturing up here but Munhoz has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Edwards tries to roll out but it's too tight and Edwards has to tap! Slick submission there by Munhoz!
