Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hoyce Gracias (ranked 6081 p4p, 2730 weight class) and Gerrad Skolz (ranked 591 p4p, 350 weight class). Hoyce Gracias had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hoyce Gracias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerrad Skolz!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skolz has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gracias.
Gracias is looking to slow Skolz down with leg kicks.
Skolz moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Gracias throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Skolz with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A punch lands to the side of Gracias 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Gracias is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Skolz's half guard.
Gracias is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Skolz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracias.
Gracias will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gracias is trying to control the action in half guard but Skolz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Skolz avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gracias.
Skolz is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Skolz makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Skolz.
Skolz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Gracias is looking to work some ground and pound but Skolz has wrist control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Skolz pulls Gracias in to control the position.
Gracias drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Skolz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracias has Skolz in his guard.
Skolz won't allow Gracias to sweep him here.
Skolz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracias is proving hard to escape from.
Gracias can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Skolz controls the pace.
Gracias wants to sweep but no luck.

Gracias looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Skolz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gracias is trying to keep Skolz in close.
Gracias working for a triangle but Skolz defends it easily.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Skolz gets to his feet. Gracias looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Skolz lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Skolz blocks the body kick.
Skolz throws a counter combo.
Skolz lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Gracias moves away from the strike by Skolz.

The fighters circling - Skolz throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gracias half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Gracias has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Skolz finds it's way round the side to connect with Gracias's head.

It looks like Hoyce Gracias has been cut.
Skolz throws a monster overhand right that drops Gracias! Skolz follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
