Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Desmond Okafor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Juha Niska!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okafor moves out of range as Niska strikes.
Okafor darts in trying to clinch
and Niska counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Niska takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Okafor is looking to improve his position.
Niska is looking to advance position but Okafor won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Niska trying to control the pace.
Okafor wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Niska works his way into full mount!
Niska content just to control the position here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Let's hope that Niska has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Niska is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Niska extends the arm and Okafor is forced to tap!

Juha Niska decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
