Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oko Nawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Herrera!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nawa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Herrera is fending him off so far but Nawa persists. Nope, Herrera circles away and we're back to standing.
Nawa tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Herrera counters with a one-two to the body.
Oko Nawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Herrera fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nawa sprawls well initially but Herrera persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Herrera perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nawa is looking for a sweep. Herrera is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Herrera is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Herrera sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Nawa won't allow Herrera to pass to mount.

Herrera decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nawa tries to clinch up.

Herrera has Nawa up against the cage in a clinch.

Herrera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Herrera drives through with a takedown into Nawa's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Herrera throwing strikes from guard but Nawa blocks nicely.
Nawa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Herrera is controlling him.

Herrera gets to his feet - Nawa follows without any prompting.

Herrera clinches up with Nawa and pushes him back against the cage.

Herrera has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Nawa clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Herrera trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Nawa doesn't escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Herrera controlling well, preventing Nawa from escaping the position.
Herrera slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
It looks like Herrera might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nawa wants to escape the position.
What can Nawa do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Herrera is not going to allow Nawa to sit and survive in this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Herrera is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Nawa is trying to stand back up.

Herrera is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Herrera is looking for the choke from the back position but Nawa is controlling his hands well.

Herrera has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Nawa is defending well but eventually Herrera manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Nawa has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
