PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nico DiAngelo (ranked 2919 p4p, 22085 weight class) and Burrito Supreme (ranked 336 p4p, 494 weight class). Burrito Supreme will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nico DiAngelo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 25 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Burrito Supreme!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Supreme's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Supreme duly obliges.
Some wild striking there from Supreme.
DiAngelo swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
A nice combination there by Supreme.
Supreme throws a sloppy head kick and DiAngelo moves out of range easily.
DiAngelo was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Supreme shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. DiAngelo eats them both and turns towards Supreme to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Supreme thows a body kick. DiAngelo tries to catch it but that hurt him.
DiAngelo shoots in and drives through. Supreme sprawls well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Supreme throws a combination but it was largely blocked by DiAngelo.
A punch combination from Supreme misses.
Sloppy strikes from Supreme. Those never looked like landing.
DiAngelo seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Supreme's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Supreme duly obliges.
Supreme closes the distance and lands a one-two.
DiAngelo avoids a punch combination nicely.
DiAngelo is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Sloppy strikes from Supreme. Those never looked like landing.
It looked like DiAngelo was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Supreme.
Supreme throws a body punch but DiAngelo moves out of range.
Supreme tries to clinch up
and DiAngelo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Supreme thinking.
DiAngelo has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from DiAngelo there as he acknowledges the shot.
A right-left combo lands from Supreme.
Supreme slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Supreme lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Supreme gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
DiAngelo tries to free his leg and advance position but Supreme is retaining full guard.

Supreme wants to stand and escape but DiAngelo is having none of it.
Supreme is trying to keep DiAngelo in close.
DiAngelo landing some decent shots from guard.
DiAngelo postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Supreme can do anything to dispel that myth.
DiAngelo being controlled here momentarily.
Supreme really doesn't want to stay on the ground with DiAngelo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
DiAngelo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Supreme swivels though and keeps the full guard.
DiAngelo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
DiAngelo trying to control the position from guard on top but Supreme is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
DiAngelo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

DiAngelo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Supreme is controlling DiAngelo's posture.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Supreme wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

DiAngelo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and DiAngelo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Supreme looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

DiAngelo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
DiAngelo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
DiAngelo passes Supreme's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Supreme keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
DiAngelo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Supreme trying to control but DiAngelo postures up.

Supreme tries to get to full guard but DiAngelo has control of the leg.

DiAngelo seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Supreme is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
