Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roelof Gerritzen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ken Vrjalya!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerritzen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vrjalya.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vrjalya.

Vrjalya throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gerritzen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vrjalya is in Gerritzen's guard.
Vrjalya told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Gerritzen seems keen to control Vrjalya's posture.
Vrjalya trying to control but Gerritzen is working from the bottom.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vrjalya wants to free his trapped foot but Gerritzen is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Vrjalya is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gerritzen defends it well.
Vrjalya throws a strike but Gerritzen avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Gerritzen wants to get back to his feet but Vrjalya is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Vrjalya advances to half guard.
Vrjalya wants to take a breather but Gerritzen is having none of it.
Gerritzen is in trouble now - Vrjalya has advanced to mount!
Vrjalya seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Gerritzen is holding on tight.

Vrjalya trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Vrjalya takes Gerritzen's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Gerritzen is in trouble.

Vrjalya has his arm under Gerritzen's chin here. Game over son! Vrjalya squeezes tightly and Gerritzen is forced to tap out!
