The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Austin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Petrov as he avoids it easily.
Austin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Petrov defends well and Austin ends up having to push Petrov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Petrov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Austin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Petrov defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ron Austin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Austin takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Austin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Petrov napping and manages to drive through into side control!
