Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Slash Shredder (ranked 392 p4p, 293 weight class) and Anthony Merel (ranked 36 p4p, 30 weight class). Slash Shredder is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 2, fighting out of London, Slash Shredder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Merel!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Merel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Merel is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shredder is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shredder has escaped and now he's on top!


Merel throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Shredder escapes and throws Merel's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Merel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shredder wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Slash Shredder dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Shredder throws a shot from downtown. Merel moves away and avoids it.
Merel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shredder.

Merel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shredder looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shredder is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Merel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shredder, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shredder bucks up and tries to throw Merel off but instead Merel has got his back!
