Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Bellard (ranked 4717 p4p, 4418 weight class) and Zargon Boltz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mitch Bellard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zargon Boltz!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bellard fails with the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Boltz as Bellard shoots in.
A countering left hand to the body from Boltz misses.
Bellard goes for a double leg but Boltz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Boltz continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mitch Bellard. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Boltz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Boltz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bellard manages to avoid it.
Bellard half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Bellard takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Bellard gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Boltz counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bellard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Boltz to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Mitch Bellard has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bellard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boltz swivels and escapes.

and Boltz counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bellard gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Boltz counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Bellard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boltz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bellard somewhat.

Bellard looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Boltz!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here as Bellard stalls from top position.
Bellard's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bellard in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Bellard happy to just control the position for now.
Boltz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bellard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Bellard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Boltz sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Boltz tries to escape but Bellard is in control.
Bellard postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Boltz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Bellard controls the position.
Bellard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Bellard is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Boltz looks calm but he's in trouble here. Bellard gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Boltz is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Bellard lets go of the hold and Boltz can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mitch Bellard!
