Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sambo Sam (ranked 1370 p4p, 2420 weight class) and Aahad Moustaffa (ranked 195 p4p, 306 weight class). Moustaffa has chosen Robot Stop by King Gizard & The Lizard Wizard as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aahad Moustaffa!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sam pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sam misses with a straight left.
Sam misses with a hook.
Donk. Moustaffa catches Sam right on the button with a cross.
Sam swinging wildly here.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Moustaffa! But no joy.
Sam misses with a takedown
enabling Moustaffa to counter with a crisp jab.

Moustaffa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sam to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Moustaffa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moustaffa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sam wants to control from the top but Moustaffa keeps moving.
Sam is looking to work some ground and pound but Moustaffa has wrist control.

Sam is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Moustaffa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sam manages to get himself to full guard.

Sam seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Moustaffa avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Sam bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moustaffa's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sam slips nicely into half guard.
Sam passes to side control.
Sam has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Moustaffa stops Sam from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Sam scoring with strikes but Moustaffa is staying in there.
Moustaffa tries to lock up and control but Sam gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Sam fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Moustaffa can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sam cracks Moustaffa with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
