Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ziggy Stardust (ranked 453 p4p, 1359 weight class) and Dan Averescu (ranked 55 p4p, 190 weight class). Stardust comes to the cage accompanied by Starman. Averescu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stardust connects with a solid leg kick.
Averescu misses with a looping left.
Averescu takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Averescu drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Averescu throws out a loose jab but Stardust uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stardust uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Averescu.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stardust was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Averescu might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

and Stardust counters with a nice low kick that buckles Averescu's knee momentarily.
Averescu takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Dan Averescu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stardust thows a body kick. Averescu tries to catch it but that hurt him.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Averescu crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Stardust - the referee stops the clock and Averescu gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Stardust. Averescu manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Averescu drops his hands momentarily and Stardust needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Averescu just on the top of the head. Averescu drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Averescu - he's done!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ziggy Stardust!
Ziggy Stardust really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Brooklyn Threads logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
