Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hueng Son (ranked 450 p4p, 1187 weight class) and Professor Xe (ranked 23 p4p, 57 weight class). Professor Xe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hueng Son!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Professor Xe!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Son.
Son wants to lay and pray for a moment but Xe keeps working.
Xe is looking to regain half guard here but Son keeps moving and retains side control.
Son taking a breather here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Xe tries to buck Son off but Son is having none of it.

Son wants to lay and pray for a moment but Xe keeps working.

You can see the frustration on Xe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Son makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Xe pulls Son in close to prevent any damage.

Xe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Son gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Son got a little sloppy there for a moment and Xe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Son has managed to get both his arms back between Xe's legs - danger averted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Xe manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Son manages to get himself to full guard.

My spies in Rage Training inform me that Xe has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That was a close round but I would say that Hueng Son will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Son fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Xe avoids it really well and circles away.
Son tries to close the distance and clinch up but Xe swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Son dives in for a single leg takedown but Xe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Xe blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Son shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Xe as he jumps to the side.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Son takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Xe scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Son doesn't seem bothered though.
Xe lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Son at a distance.
Xe closes the distance and clinches up with Son, looking for a takedown. Xe pushes Son against the cage but Son circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Professor Xe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Xe postures up in Son's guard and throws a big left but Son blocks it.

Son utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Xe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Xe chips away with some ground and pound.

Professor Xe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Son looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Xe shoots in but no luck this time.
Son tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Xe manages to circle out of the way.
Xe just misses with a punch to the body.
Xe loads up on a big right hand but Son slips the punch.
Xe has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Son instigates a clinch.

Son's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Son avoids the body shot from Xe.
No luck for Son with that takedown attempt.
Son takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Son doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Xe closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Son did well to prevent Xe getting side control.
Son wants to stand back up but Xe manages to pass into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Son taking punishment in the form of punches.
Professor Xe has got the better of the ground game so far.
Xe working the head and body with strikes.
Son is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Xe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Son knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Xe scores with punches from side control.
Son is not content to let Xe control the position.
Xe cracks Son with a big right hand but Son just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Xe avoids the strikes from the bottom by Son.
Xe controls the position.
Son takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Son is rocked!
Xe scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Son is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Xe can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Professor Xe!
